Location: Woolpit
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 a year - Permanent Full-time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, commercially minded, Transport Manager to manage and lead our operation at our site at Woolpit, IP30 9RZ.
Objectives:
Deliver an efficient, effective operation meeting all customer requirements and KPI’s.
Maximise revenue and improve margins across the Woolpit fleet.
Build the customer base to increase overall profits in line with the department’s objectives and company Profit Plan.
Manage operating costs, including office and depot overheads.
Develop the operations team on an individual basis to improve their knowledge base.
Ensure the LGV workforce is “fit for purpose”.
Responsibilities:
Lead the scheduling and dispatching a fleet of HGVs on a daily basis.
Support a team of HGV drivers in line with Company values.
Develop the customer base to increase weekly vehicle revenue.
Track the performance and profitability of operations against financial targets.
Promote the Company services and be a brand ambassador.
Ensure vehicle revenues and customer service levels are maintained.
Safety, health and compliance (Driver hours, WTD).
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
Proven track record in commercial operations, preferably in a supply chain or logistics environment
Knowledge of pallet networks and/or general distribution.
Transport Management CPC.
Skills and Attributes:
Previous experience as a traffic operator with good knowledge of the general haulage market.
Customer focused.
Flexible and agile with a dynamic personality.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Leads by example, always willing to “Go the Extra Mile”
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient with MS Office and TMS.
